Animation Mentor

Yeah baby! I am enrolled at Animation Mentor. My mentor is Dave Burgess, an animator currently working for Dreamworks and he has just finished working on an animated movie called Madagascar. I am happy to have him as my mentor and I hope to learn and apply everything he dishes out.

Required reading for the first class is a book called The Illusion of Life by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas. It's a great book about Disney and animation from the very beginning. I didn't know Friz Freeling started with Disney. Now I can see why there was such a resemblance between some of the WB characters and some of the Disney characters.

I got my copy of Maya last night. Messed with it for about an hour. Did a couple poses of Stu. Maya is not much different than Max. It's been a pretty easy transition so far.

Anyway, I am pumped up.
